Sunoco Super Street $1000 to win at Swainsboro Raceway!

During opening ceremonies at Swainsboro Raceway Saturday night the First Annual Miss Swainsboro Raceway pageant was held. Picking up first runner up was Bessie Rountree and Congratulations to Miss Abrill Adams for winning the title of 2013 Miss Swainsboro Raceway. Miss Adams will be representing Swainsboro Raceway at special events throughout the 2013 racing season. You can get a chance to meet Ms Adams May 3 and 4 at the Annual Pine Tree 100 as the World of Outlaw Super Late Models come to town Saturday night for $10,000 to win. This weekend come enjoy two nights of racing action in local divisions and Saturday World of Outlaw Super Late Models and Mud Bogging Dixie Style.
Saturday night racing action in the Aarons Crate Late Model division began with 2012 Points Champion Austin Scarboro picking up the fastest qualifying time and leading the field to green with Jeremy Faircloth outside. After single file restart, Scarboro led lap one and Chesley Dixon moved past Faircloth for the second position. Lap two, Faircloth regained the second position tracking down Scarboro leading the way. Lap five, Gib Gibbons hung on the outside gave up fourth and fifth to Rod Wiggins and Henry Carter. Lap seven, Scarboro and Faircloth several car lengths in front of third place began to battle for the lead. With seven laps to go, Jeremy Faircloth dove to the inside of Scarboro in turn two taking the lead on the back straight away. Jeremy Faircloth took the checkered, Austin Scarboro second, Chesey Dixon third, Rod Wiggins fourth, and Henry Carter fifth.
In the Daniels Chevrolet Pure Stock division, Luke Scott took the lead off turn two as Marshall Powell, Charlie Coxwell, and Wesley Coleman battled for second. Lap two, running in the fourth position, Marshall Powell stuck high on the outside spun. Moving from the rear after not starting the heat race, Brent Herndon moved inside Charles Hunter for fourth. After a caution on lap four, on the restart, Herndon in fourth was off the pace allowing Hunter and Tripp Giffin to move pass. As Scott continued to lead the way, Herndon continued to make his way back through the field regaining the fourth position on lap eight. After battling for second from the beginning, Wesley Coleman took over second from Charlie Coxwell. With only two laps remaining, Herndon moved to the inside of Coleman off turn four taking over the second position. Luke Scott grabbed his first Daniels Chevrolet Pure Stock win of the season, Brent Herndon second, Wesley Coleman third, Charlie Coxwell fourth, and Charles Hunter rounded out the top five.
After a single file restart in the West Main Pit Stop 440 division, Tommy Davis led lap one as Chad Newton in the second position fell back to fourth as Justin Thompson and John Hooks passed on the inside. Lap three, Hooks moved by Thompson for the second position. With five laps to go, Hooks began to battle Davis for the lead. Two laps to go, John Hooks took the lead and drove to Victory Lane for the first time this year. Finishing out the top five Tommy Davis, Justin Thompson, Freddie Duplisea, and John Whisnant.
Another single file restart in the Adams Construction Road Warrior division, Alf Wimberly to the lead with Lil Charlie Coxwell in second. Moving through the field Tyler Holt passed Eric Weber to take over the fourth position. Lap three, Holt moved inside Josh Herndon for the third position. Lap six, Holt continued to gain ground taking over second from Lil Charlie Coxwell. Lap seven, Josh Herndon running in the third position got loose and spun off turn two. Alf Wimberly added another win to his record for the year, Tyler Holt picked up second, Jody Ivey third, Justin Hart fourth, and Dustin Wilson fifth,
Continuing to take reign in the Extreme Concrete Mini Stock division, Joey Schoen took the lead with Tim Wilkerson in second and AJ Horton third. Brad McKenzie moving from the back took over the fourth position from Payton Johnson. Lap seven, AJ Horton and Brad McKenzie moved to the inside of Tim Wilkerson for the second and third positions. As Joey Schoen has dominated the entire season taking the checkered once again, Brad McKenzie moved pass AJ Horton for second. Rounding out the top five was AJ Horton third, Tim Wilkerson fourth, and after bringing out the red flag from flipping on his side, Bo Johnson picked up fifth.
Battling for $1000 to win a sixteen car field, Luke Scott led lap one with Chris Shaw in second of the Sunoco Super Street division. Lap two, Shaw started working the inside of Scott for the lead and Dustin Watkins battled Danny Scarboro for fifth. Lap four, Chris Shaw passed Luke Scott on the back stretch for the lead and checked out. Five laps to go, Lance Beck took over second from Scott. Chris Shaw took home his first win at Swainsboro Raceway, Lance Beck finished second, and Luke Scott third. Jamey Donaldson was able to complete his first event of the year after several weeks of mechanical problems and grab fourth position. Passing Danny Scarboro on the last lap, Dustin Watkins took the fifth position.
