Coleman wins at Swainsboro Raceway!

With cloudy skies and summer thunderstorms in the area, Mother Nature held off Saturday night for great racing action at Swainsboro Raceway. After qualifying in the Aaron’s Crate Late Model division, Austin Scarboro grabbed the fastest qualifying time over Henry Carter for the feature event. As the green flag flew, Henry Carter took the lead off turn two with Scarboro falling into the second position. Lap seven, Glen Watkins running in the fourth position slipped in coming off turn four allowing Rod Wiggins to make the pass. Halfway, Scarboro moved to the inside of Carter battling for the lead. Carter held a little more power off the turns to maintain first position. With seven laps to go, Chesley Dixon making ground began a three car battle for first with Carter and Scarboro. Five laps remaining, in second position, Austin Scarboro spun coming off turn two allowing Chesley Dixon to move into second. Hurricane Henry Carter led the entire event to take the checkered, Chesley Dixon second, Rod Wiggins third, Austin Scarboro fourth, and Glen Watkins fifth.
In the West Main Pit Stop 440 division, a single file restart gave Tommy Davis the lead over Joey Schoen. With four laps to go, Schoen was battling Davis for the lead but unable to get around. Tommy Davis took the checkered adding another win to his season record with Joey Schoen in second. John Hooks passed Justin Thompson on the last lap for the third position. Thompson took home fourth with Jeff Grubbs rounding out the top five.
Taking the lead on lap one in the Adams Construction Road Warrior division, Jared Jones lead over Steven Stapleton and Alf Wimberly. Quickly moving through the field by lap four, Tyler Holt took over the fourth position from Ricky Strange bringing Josh Herndon along in fifth. With five laps to go, Holt moved inside Steven Stapleton off turn four for third. Three laps to go, Holt moved into the second position. Josh Herndon running in third was forced to pit allowing Ricky Strange to move up. As Jared Jones dominated taking the checkered, Tyler Holt picked up second, Ricky Strange running in third spun off four allowing Lil Charlie Coxwell to pick up third, Alf Wimberly moved back to fourth and Steven Stapleton finished fifth.
Up next, Brent Herndon took the lead in the Daniels Chevrolet Pure Stock division with JJ Williams riding in second and Luke Scott third. Lap three, Wesley Coleman moved inside Scott for third. Halfway, the caution waived unfortunately for leader Brent Herndon as he blew coming out turn three. While under caution, Luke Scott running in third pitted. Leading the field around trying to dry up the oil, JJ Williams was forced to pit with right rear flat. Wesley Coleman took the green with Shannon Scott in second and Tripp Giffin third. Wesley Coleman took the checkered celebrating his first win of the year in victory lane. Shannon Scott finished second, JJ Williams moved back up to the third position, Tripp Giffin picked up fourth, and Corey Howell fifth.
Rolling out in the Extreme Concrete Mini Stock division, Joey Schoen continued to dominate leading the entire event and taking the checkered, Tim Wilkerson second, and Payton Johnson third.
Ending the night in the Sunoco Super Street division, Jimmy Maness took the lead over Dustin Watkins off turn two. Halfway, previous winner Chris Shaw running in third brought out caution and was forced to pit after losing drive shaft. Jimmy Maness took the checkered picking up his first win of the season at Swainsboro Raceway, Dustin Watkins second, Luke Scott third, Jamey Donaldson fourth, and Jeff Hadden fifth.
