CAMP CHAMELEON VISITS SWAINSBORO RACEWAY
Over twenty little campers from Camp Chameleon, along with camp owners Jodi and Jim Jarvis, toured Swainsboro Raceway on Friday, June 14.
Campers were given a ride around the track on the raceway tram and got a look at how the track preparation was done. They also toured the tech. room as Track Owner Paul Purvis demonstrated how certain tools were used to make sure competitor’s engines were within specifications. The raceway late model two-seater ride-along was revved up to amazement of the kids.
The Swainsboro Mud Bog was too inviting as many wanted to play in the mud. Going upstairs into the Mud Bog scoring tower, the campers got a bird’s eye view of the 200’ pit.
The Raceway scoring tower proved interesting to all the kids, as they visited the VIP rooms and walked out onto the flagstand.
The campers were given cool, refreshing Coke products and a Swainsboro Raceway t-shirt. Mitch Proctor, owner of Southland Insurance and a loyal raceway sponsor, was on hand with souvenirs for all the visitors.
