TAPLEY WINS AT SWAINSBORO MUDBOG

Swainsboro Mudbog action picked back up on Saturday May 17th with a couple of new names in the winner’s circle.  Swainsboro’s Hunter Tapley and McRae’s Tommy Howell enjoyed their first wins of the season.

Action got under way in the Modified division with Howell making a complete run in his 1985 Chevy S-10 with a time of 7,748 seconds.  Corey Whisnant of Hepzibah came in second with a distance of 133; 1” in his 1971 K 5 Blazer.

Stacy Rich continued his dominance by winning the LIGHT truck class with 36” & under tires with a distance of 143’ 6 ½” in his 1988 Suzuki Samurai.  Rick Giddons of McRae followed in second place with his Toyota at 124’ 7”.

The HEAVY truck class with 36” & under tires was won by Hunter Tapley.  Tapley earned his first win with his 1979 Ford F-150 with a distance of 129’ 8 ¼”.  Neil Rogers of Waynesboro came in second with a pass of 125’ 11 ½” in his 1985 K 5 Blazer and Dustan Fennell of Adrian came in third place in his ’76 Bronco with a run of 125’ 6 ¾”.

The HEAVY truck class with 36 ½” to 38 ½” tires was won by Bryan Frost of Brooklet, Ga. with a run of 136’ ¾” in his 1979 Ford F-150.

The LIGHT truck class with 36 ½” to 38 ½” tires was won by Hunter Rich in his 1989 Samurai with a complete run time of 3 minutes and 7.761 seconds.

The Heavy truck class with 39” to 44” size tires was won by the Pink Cancer Awareness ride sponsored by Royal’s Wooden Creations and driven by Ronnie Royal.  Royal drove his machine to a complete run time of 5 minutes 12.460 seconds.  Koty Royal finished in second place with his 1985 Blazer with a distance of 143’ 4” followed by Phillip Beasley from Eden, Ga. with a pass of 142’ 2 ½” in his 1986 Chevy.
