Racing fans rolled into Swainsboro Raceway Saturday afternoon for the 2018 Open House feature car and kart show plus the first go-kart race of the year.  With some great looking cars and karts on display, drivers were able to vote for the top three cars in each division and kart drivers voted for the top three adult and children karts.  In the Scare House of the South 440 division, Tyler Davis grabbed first place, Tommy Davis second, and Trent Kersey third. Picking up the win in the Roger Wheeler Construction Road Warrior division was Graham Stevenson with Gene Thompson second, and Justin Williams third.  Roger McKenzie earned first in the Daniels Chevrolet Pure Stock division with Shelton Richardson second.  After an initial tie, Ken Davis picked up first in the Sunoco Super Street division with Phillip Nesmith second.  Moving up a few divisions, Logan Tanner took first in the 602 division with Ryan Hilton also moving up grabbing second, and Kyle Dudley third. In the Zaxby’s Crate Late Model division, Chris Usry grabbed first. With several races scheduled for the 2018 season with Swainsboro Raceway now as their home track, Kash Wilson took the car show win in the Sharp Mini Late Model series with Seth Luke second.

 

Swainsboro Kart Track adult division, Payton Johnson grabbed first, Brandon Pollette second, and Wayne Edenfield third.  In the kids division, Brayden Drawdy earned trophy for first, Tucker Baird second, and Joe Brett Sullivan third.

 

Nearly 90 Karts registered for the first Kart Race of the 2018 season.  In the Red Plate division, Joe Brett Sullivan picked up his first win for the season, Trey Oliver second, and Tyler McCumbers third.  For Green Plate Light, Chase Litchfield took the checkered, Jake Brown second, and Brayden Drawdy third.  Litchfield earned a double feature picking up the win in the Green Plate Heavy division, Jake Brown two second place finishes, and Tucker Baird third.  A battle of the young ladies in the Blue Plate division earned Marley Meeks her first win of the season with Katie Pender second.  Marley Meeks celebrated with another win in the Pro Blue division over Katie Pender second.  Eleven karts battled in the Predator 350 division with Todd Godbee taking the checkered over Joe Martin and Payton Johnson.  In a ten kart battle for the Predator 375 division, Brandon Into took first place over Todd Godbee and Dylan Frawley.  Taking home first place in the Clone T3 350 division, Joseph Diekemper beat out thirteen drivers with Brandon Pollette second, and Dylan Litchfield third.  For Clone T3 375, Diekemper earned another win over Ryan Adams and Justin Diekemper.  In the Clone El 350 class, Justin Diekemper took the checkered with Chad Murray second and Joseph Diekemper third.  The Diekemper brothers dominated the night with Justin Diekemper picking up another win in the Clone EL 375 division over brother Joseph Diekemper second and Ryan Adams third.  Starting the season off with a win, Matt Black took first in the Clone Super Heavy 425 division, Matt Peebles second, and Shane Black third.
