  • The regulations and/ or rules set forth herein are intended as a guide for conduct of all divisions at Swainsboro Raceway. Compliance with these rules does not express or imply warranty of safety, not in any way a guarantee against injury to participate.
  • The officials of Swainsboro Raceway will have full authority over all events and in the event of a dispute, the decision of the official will be final.
  • All cars participating at Swainsboro Raceway will be subject to inspection at any time by the technical inspector.
  • These rules will apply to all Swainsboro Raceway sanctioned events.
  • In the interest of fair competition, Swainsboro Raceway reserves the right to amend and/ or alter these regulations and rules.
  • Drivers must furnish social security numbers and addresses to the track office in order to collect winnings. If the driver fails to collect winnings within two weeks, money will be forfeited.
  • No one will be permitted to cross track at any time unless permitted to do so by track officials. Violators will be subject to ejection from area.
  • The absence of a specific rule does not imply approval, consent or permission regarding that subject. Any questions or doubts regarding such matters should be directed to speedway officials for a clarification.
  • ALL TOWING VEHICLES ENTERING PIT MUST HAVE A #10 ABC FIRE EXTINGUISHER!!
  • RACECEIVERS ARE MANDATORY.
  • GENERAL RULES

    1. Pit Passes…All persons entering the pit area must have a pit pass and sign a release form, and must wear armband on arm only.
    2. Rain Check Policy…Absolutely no money refunded. Rain checks will be honored only for tickets that have the appropriate number for rainouts. There will be NO exceptions. Make-up race date will be determined and announced at time of postponement. Again, there will be NO cash refunds. Any time a race is cancelled and over half the features have been completed, the race will be considered complete and no rain checks will be issued.
    3. Drivers… A driver must be 14 years of age with proof of age. Any driver under the age of 18 must have a notarized Release of Liability Statement and permission from their parents or legal guardian.
    4. All drivers must wear approved helmet and full one or two-piece fire suit. Boots and gloves are optional.
    5. All drivers must attend driver’s meeting.
    6. Any driver suspected of being under the influence of alcohol will be required to take a Breath-O-Lizer Test. If positive, the driver will be charged with DUI by the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Department.
    7. No participant shall subject any employee or official to improper or abusive language or signs at any time.
    8. All drivers are responsible for the actions and conduct of their crew.
    9. Speeding in the pit area will result in one of the following: Laps being taken away, or being sent to the pit, or being suspended.
    10. Anyone caught fighting will go to jail and pay the $500.00 Cash Bond. If anyone approaches another race car or goes to another racers pit to and trouble ensues, that person will be considered “in the wrong.”
    11. Swainsboro Raceway reserves the right to fine, suspend, or bar any driver, owner, or pit crew for unruly conduct.
    12. All drivers must use raceceivers for hot laps, heats, qualifying, and features. Raceceivers are mandatory anytime your car goes onto the racetrack.
    13. This rule book is a guideline and can be subject to changes at anytime by the tech inspector and weight may also be added for infraction of any rules at the tech inspector’s discretion.

    2010 RACE CARS

    1. All cars must have legible numbers 18 inches high on both doors and roof for scoring purposes and a 6” number on the front nose and rear of car.
    2. All cars must have tow hooks on front and rear bumper. Mandatory!
    3. All cars must have a fire extinguisher, and it must be mounted in reach of the driver.
    4. Must have at least one drive shaft loop.
    5. The top three cars must come to the scales after each feature.
    6. All cars must have racing harnesses with a minimum of 3-inch shoulder harness and 3 inch lap belt.
    7. Must have window net in up position. Mandatory!
    8. All doors must be welded shut.
    9. All glass and materials that will burn must be removed.
    10. All cars are required to have at least a 4-point roll cage made from tubing with a minimum diameter of 1 ½” and minimum wall thickness of .090. Roll cage must be welded to frame rails and all connections must be fully welded. A minimum of 2 horizontal bars in the passenger door and 3 horizontal bars in the driver’s door is required.
    11. Must have a minimum of 3 windshield bars with a minimum diameter of 3/8”. MANDATORY!
    12. Aluminum radiators are optional.
    13. Must have full front and rear firewall.
    14. Gas tanks, in other than stock locations, must be steel and mounted in the center of the trunk; cannot be lowered in the car. Racing fuel cells must be mounted in a steel container. May cut center of trunk floor for fuel cell.
    15. All nuts, bolts, and component parts of each car’s suspension system, chassis, and running gear must be secured with either lock nuts, lock washers, or cotter keys and must have at least one full thread showing above nuts.
    16. Pump gasoline or racing gasoline only. No additives.
    17. May use racing steering wheel with quick release hub.
    18. NO battery allowed in driver’s compartment.
    19. Stock dashboard OK. Maybe replaced with steel.
    20. Any driver that uses neck restraints, such as HANS, or a safety seat will get a 50 lb. weight break.
