The historic Swainsboro Raceway is located in beautiful Swainsboro, GA just off HWY 56. The 3/8 mile dirt track was opened to automobile racing in 1964 on Sunday afternoons. In 1964, there were only 3 different divisions to compete in and grandstands to seat 100 spectators.

Over the last 45 years, several additions and improvements have been made to the facilities at Swainsboro Raceway. In 2000, the track was purchased by Paul and Debra Purvis, both who have been involved with dirt racing for over 30 years. They along with the staff have made several significant upgrades at the facility. There is an office that is open Monday thru Saturday allowing the competitors, fans, and sponsors to communicate with the owners and officials at any time. Information on Swainsboro Raceway can also be accessed on the at www.swainsbororaceway.com or like us on Facebook
Swainsboro Raceway, Swainsboro Mudbog, & Swainsboro Kart Track.

Swainsboro Raceway now holds regular racing events on Saturday Nights with 6 different racing divisions and 13 Go Kart Divisions. There is grandstand seating that is available to seat 3500 race fans with a family friendly non-alcoholic section, an infield area that has 125 pit stalls, 200 outside pit stalls, modern infield and grandstand concession stand, Fan Zone parking area that has 59 parking spots for race fans who like to park and watch the race from the back of their RV or truck, Bud Room for the adults to grab an ice cold beverage and freshly popped popcorn. Behind our Pit Stop Concession Stand you will find a covered shelter with a huge fan and picnic tables so fans can enjoy the beautiful outdoors and smell the aromas as Roundman takes those Pig Steaks right off the grill. For the best view of racing, Swainsboro Raceway now has three beautifully enclosed, air conditioned, VIP Towers with cable television available for rent during any of your special occasions. Just recently, in 2015 more clay was added for steeper banks, more racing groove, and an overall better racing surface.

Our average attendance is over 2500 adults and an average car count of 102 each racing night. Over 500 different drivers from all over the United States visit Swainsboro Raceway each year. Swainsboro Raceway is host to the Schaeffer’s Southern National Super Late Models, Pine Tree 100, Fire Cracker 100 and Crate Late Model Southern Dream $20,000 to win at the Annual Turkey 100. We also have Ladies night monthly featuring a Powder Puff event for the ladies, our annual Preacher Feature when surrounding area churches come out to cheer as minister’s battle to take the title and trophy for their Church, and the annual Ms. Swainsboro Raceway Pageant. Swainsboro Raceway is honored to host a day for the kids as children from Camp Chameleon are brought out for a track tour, 2 seater ride alongs in one of our two Crate Late Model cars, and lunch. Don’t be surprised when you see special guests such as Nascar driver Joey Logano, Nascar Driver Kenny Wallace, and The Swamp People’s Dread Knots who have all recently visited our facility.

In 2014, Swainsboro Raceway became home to one of the best Go Kart facilities in the South. At Swainsboro Kart Track, 13 divisions race weekly with drivers as young as 5 years old. Swainsboro Kart Track has over 100 pit stalls and has had over 300 karts at a single event.
